I want to boot from a livecd in order to "replace" the system on a raid array (raid1). Booting with the livecd2006.1 install minimal works, I as well get the /dev/sd* nodes (it's a raid 1 on two sata drives). modprobe raid1 works as well, it just doesn't do anything, I don't get the /dev/md* entries, therefore I cannot use my raid array....
Does anybody have a solution to this?
Thanks

FYI, neither does the 2007.0 CD
Just create the /dev/md* device nodes and assemble your array with mdadm.
See http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-x86+raid+lvm2-quickinstall.xml but be careful not to recreate the array if you need the data, i.e. use --assemble instead of --create
