|
|
I've got a really weird bug in my sound system, and somehow it appeared without any change of config files or something else:
The thing is, when I try to play a file in amarok, it says "xine was unable to initialize any audio drivers."
In htop, I see a new the artsd-process starting every 3 seconds, so after a while I've got a couple of "/usr/kde/3.5/bin/artsd" up and running.
And when I kill them with "killall", they restart nevertheless. In addition, in the Control Center I am unable of starting the sound system, because at 90% it jumps back to 5%...
At the startup there are no error messages and dmesg doesn't tell me anything at all about this issue
//edit
Okey, remerging doesn't help, something keeps starting arts...
In the Konsole arts says "unix_connect: can't connect to server (unix:/tmp/ksocket-darillian/nergal:box-6631-4694dbb0)"
Hope you can help me
Greetz, Darillian

Jeez, I've found the bug xD
Actually i did change a configuration file, namely the "/etc/conf.d/hostname"...
So the error ocurred because of a colon in my hostname...
But now it's very interesting to know why aRts (and only arts, alsa and oss worked well) doesn't like colons in the hostname... |
