|
|
Hi,
Yesterday i tryed to install the current Gentoo.
Tody I can boot the System to Runnlevel 3 but if the System is booting, after the Kernel it says:
*Letting udev process events ... [OK]
FATAL: Coud not load /lib/modules/2.6.22-gentoo-r8/modules.dep No such file or directory
#Message is repeating a view times
* finalizing udev configuration ... [OK]
I´ve checked this, and the Directory is realy not existing, but I have disabled Modules Support in my
Kernel because I don't need it.
Now my question, how can I fix this Problem
with best regards

I don't know if this would work on a non-modular kernel, but it just might make the startup scripts quiet.
Code: | # cd /usr/src/linux
# make modules_install
# reboot |

Hi,
not these lines of code doesn't help.
There is also no difference between aktivating Modules support and deaktivating.
If I have deaktivated Modules support I can't make modules install, the Systems says, that this is not necessary
The Message dos not appear while the Kernel is booting.
The Message appears while loading udev. |

Problem solved with Installing the Nvidia Drivers, it seams to occur, if there is no Module.
