Hotplug and framebuffer gives long startup time

When I use a framebuffer the startup time increases dramatically. When the hotplug script starts up during the init process it starts to show up alot of text. It goes on and on, for at least a minute.
If I'm not using a framebuffer it takes maybe five seconds to start hotplug. This is really weird and I have no idea how to get rid of it.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
