|
|
Hello,
I'm trying to get my Gentoo install to be able to view Russian characters. The primary language on the machine is English but I can't seem to get the characters to display (I only see ?'s). Is there a wiki entry somewhere to help? I can't seem to find one. |

Is it on (text) consoles or in X that you want russian characters to be displayed? _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

Text in consoles at least. For the most part, in other apps such as firefox the russian characters are displayed correctly. |

Then you need UTF-8 consoles and unicode-aware cyrillic console fonts. You have some in /usr/share/consolefonts/. All you need is setup /etc/conf.d/consolefont. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...
