Hi,

My X will not start, i'm sorry for the vague topic, but i'm not really sure what the true error is which is causing X to fail, I think the (WW) is a warning, and then i get xterm errors... i don't think xterm errors would cause it to fail, but maybe so.

Anyways, I ran xorgcfg to get a quick configuration file that works, and then i would modify it for optimization. I've also tried other configs from people with the same exact laptop and they fail with the same output:
Code:

xauth:  creating new authority file /home/gnychis/.serverauth.25961

Release Date: 22 May 2006

Current Operating System: Linux x60s 2.6.17-rc6 #2 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jun 11 18:31:48 EDT 2006 i686

        Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

So I re-emerged libxaw just incase, and still get the same error. Here is my xorg.conf:

If i comment the BusID out, or change it to 0:2:1, it still fails to start

going to keep this thread incase it helps someone else... after emerging modular x.org, you need to unmask xterm with ~x86 to get it started

For the record, compile libXaw with the 'xprint' USE flag for libXaw.so.8, if you don't want to unmask xterm.
