Guys, Im sort of desperate on this one.
I've been trying to boot various LiveCDs with 0 success so far.
The source of the problems is unknown to me personally, but I suspect its my hardware, and my motherboard specifically.
The following screens were made with Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, but I am getting similar problems in gentoo:

Normal launch- http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/9775/pict0276largeyz7.jpg
Noapic nolapic stalled here- http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/9392/pict0278largeqr3.jpg

noapic nolapic acpi=off- http://img234.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict0281largesb2.jpg

My hardware config is as following:
CPU- P4 Prescott 530 HT
Mobo- MSI MS-7036 (i915G chipset)
RAM- 2x512 DDR1 (DC)
GPU- eVGA 7900GS KO

I'd be thankful for all the help I can get.

It looks like "acpi=off" was the most helpful option, but you may need to change some settings in your BIOS too.

I would try clearing the CMOS, and loading the default BIOS settings. Maybe that will allow you to boot (at least).

I'll try that.

Just got an answer from MSI:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for contacting MSI Technical Support.

As you know, Linux is an open operating system, which has many versions such as Redhat, Suse... so that we could not test Linux on our product. According to the system requirement of Linux OS, MS7036 should support Linux. And we do not provide Linux driver, contact the corresponding chip vendor such as Intel, nvidia and update drivers for your motherboard to check again?

Best regards,
MSI Technical Support Team
