dear friends
gentoo on acer laptop
i was logged in as root
yesterday i took my lap top to the second floor of the building and when i came back none of the commands was working and i pushed the power button and when i rebooooted with any kernel it is showing a strange error

if i type root the prompt will come again no response!!!!
if i press alt+cntrl+del
Code: | shutdown: /dev/initctd.No such file of directory |
i can boot with the live cd, but
how to check the gentoo installation integrity ?
when i tried reiserfsck no error for the / directory
any help is appreciated

finally i found that my /bin folder was moved into /boot
was a mistake while using the touch pad and usb mouse...
but i like to know the way to check the integrity of gentoo installation
i wnt to know wether everything is perfect
how can i check the integrity, refresh the entire gentoo tree? so that i can convince myself
