How do I find out what pin package is my Processor?
I want to find this cuz I think my motherboard's gone bad and I need to find a compatible but better one.
Clearly /proc/cpuinfo doesn't display that information...
Anyways, if this is helpful.. /proc/cpuinfo displays this:
Code: |
root ~ # cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 15
model : 2
model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
stepping : 7
cpu MHz : 2399.940
cache size : 512 KB
fdiv_bug : no
hlt_bug : no
f00f_bug : no
coma_bug : no
fpu : yes
fpu_exception : yes
cpuid level : 2
wp : yes
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe up

I got the information in the Motherboard manual..says that it supports Intel Pentium 4 processors in the 478-pin package.

Do you have the motherboard manual? Should tell you what socket it has.
[edit] I wish the forums would notify you that a reply was posted, display it, and ask if you'd like to continue with your own. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |

Yes, I have subscribed to this thread and so it notifies me via Email.
Thanks for the reply anyways. Seems like I found out seconds before you posted. _________________ C Programs |

Thanks but I already got that information.
I am really screwed cuz finding a new mobo with better features (compared to the one I have right now) is difficult for this Processor. It's outdated. Damn! _________________ C Programs |
