I have just installed Linux on my wifes's laptop (where she has been running Windows seemingly fine) but I have one problem. The laptop freezes with every access to the harddisk and this gets in the log:

Is it the harddisk that is the problem or controller or something else?

any progress? same here with Intel ICH9R southbridge and a 10k Raptor harddisc. running ArchLinux 2.6.22.2 kernel. |
