Hi guys,

Upgrading my Pc in the comming weeks and I was wondering whether I would have any linux compatibility issues.

Mobo: Asus P5K or Gigabyte DS3R
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo e6750
GPU: Evga 8800GTS 320mb oc'd
RAM: Corsair (2x1Gb) XMS2 DDR-800
PSU: Corsair 520 HX
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200.10
Burner: Lite-On Combo drive

Now the reason I started this thread is because I heard some things about the sound card I wanted to get
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1. Do these cards not have any linux support? Any good alternatives? (I currently have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz so I'm still evaluating whether I need the upgrade at all).

Oh, and any advice on the mobo?

Thanks!
Dswissmiss

Alright, getting ready to buy this week.

So just to confirm, is the TBSC better than the onboard Realtek ALC 883?
Any other linux compatibility issues I should know about in general?

Thank you

For example i don't have problems with my ASUS P5W DH DeLuxe motherboard and it contains this:

06:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G70 [GeForce 7600 GT] (rev a1)

Of course, as VGA i'm rather choose always nVIDIA instead of ATi because i'm convinced that nv has better support as ati (i never had any problem with nvidia).
