Howdy!
My old HP zd7000 series laptop running Gentoo died today, so I'm thinking about getting a new dv9000 series. Does anyone have any opinions about if I should get:
- The Intel Core 2 T7300 or the AMD Turion TL-64
- The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 or the GeForce 8400M GS (If I get the AMD processor, then my only choice is the NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150)
Thanks for any thoughts.

Depends on what you want to do with it.
For processor, there is not much of discussion. intel core2duo! they use less power and are faster.
GPU: for some basic stuff, the X3100 should be sufficient, but if you want to go a little further (h264 encoded video, playing some games) take the G84 chip, it worth the power it consumes. (And that coming from someone who has a QuadroFX 570M...)
You might need some testing packages to get this system up and running...
cheers
