Hi everyone,

I installed lmule manualle, that means no "emerge". I downloaded the sources and compiled "wxWindow" ...

./configure
make
make install

wxWindow should work now, I guess (how can I check this?).

Than I downloaded lmule and compiled this, everything went good. But when I try to execute lmule it comes up with the following error message:

"lmule: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk-2.4.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Does anyone has an idea what's this about?? ANY IDEAS??

Thanks in advance

Is there a reason why you don't emerge it ?

Emerge runs fine. I used the 1.2.x ebuild for the latest 1.3.1 which runs very good so far.

I can't say which version was used for each prog... is that bad??
How can i check this?

I didn't emerge lmule because I only found one version and this one was masked, it seemed more easy for my to make it manually... bad idea!?!?

I already seen some howto's on emerging lmule correctly, is that ok if I install it over the existing??

Thanks in advance

I have emerged wxGTK, and in /usr/lib, I have libwx_gtk-2.4.so and libwx_gtk2-2.4.so. To change between them, you have to look at /usr/bin, and have a symlink pointing to wxgtk-2.4-config or wxgtk2-2.4-config.

Also, you may want to try the latest version of lmule, with new name : www.xmule.org

It seems my username is no longer valid...

Well new name, same problem:

I couldn't find the specified file "libwx_gtk2-2.4.so". I tryied to "locate" it, no success...

Any other suggestions?

Once again the question: is it save to emerge lmule over the existing installation?

OK, I now emerged wxGTK (the patched one as described here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=39444) and it works perfectly!!!

Thanks to everyone.

P.S.: dies it matter that I now have two versions of wxWindows???
