|
|
Hi i've got a little problem with my wireless setup...
After i start the interface over /etc/init.d/net.wlan0 it associates with my AP, starts wpa_supplicant and successful authenticates over wpa-psk. But then the troubles start... i get an ip-address over dhcpcd, but i cant get the gateway and dns informations. but if i start dhcpcd manually later on(after a few seconds) it fetches all this informations without a problem. So probably the wlan0 interface is not completely ready when dhcpcd starts the first time...
is there any way to set it up, that dhcpcd waits till the interface is completely ready?
wlan driver: iwl4965
thanks jaclar |

Try extending the timeout period. If you don't know how, see /etc/conf.d/net.example _________________ Thomas S. Howard |

If that doesn't work, try adding '-I' to the dhcpcd options, or re-emerge with the vram USE flag on. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |

I suspected. There's been a sort of epidemic of dhcp failures lately. Usually, it's the other way around: someone upgraded and it stopped working. That's why I suggested the '-I' or vram stuff, just in case you hit that problem too. Looks like your DHCP server is up to date though. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |

Normally happens with new dhcpcd as ~ARCH are my testers
I'm the author of dhcpcd-3 and whilst I do as much testing as humanly possible, I cannot possible test everything DHCP wise and the 3.1.2 release did mess up quite badly - basically it was unable to add subnet routes on non zero metrics which baselayout does by default.
So running it by hand - works.
My fault - sorry! _________________ Use dhcpcd for all your automated network configuration needs
