I case you don't hang out in #einit on freenode I just wanted to let people know that eINIT now supports dbus. There is a dbus based client library. This means that everything that einit can do can be controlled though dbus. The C++ bindings exits (others to come soon). There is also a gtk system tray application in the works for controlling services from X with out having to use cli . To try out the new features update make sure you have the latest ebuilds and make sure you have USE="gtk dbus". Also please stop by #einit and give us feedback. _________________ Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. |

Maybe I should finally try to get einit to work | there's no 'actual' gui client to use yet, but we've begun working on one in svn. dbus access and convenient client libraries work fairly fine as well .
this might get something good .
all praises to ryan, d-bus was entirely his idea, and it was a good one. _________________ "Confident, lazy, cocky, dead." -- Felix Jongleur, Otherland
