Hi
I have been installing Gentoo over the last couple days and have had this problem with kernel panics. Basically when I boot off the newly installed gentoo it gets a kernel panic saying something about the interupt handler not synching...

This doesnt occur in the boot cd so Im thinking I messed up :) . I am running the gaming sources..I turned on the low latency but I didnt have it controled but sysctl(or something).

Any suggestions?

i have the same prob

i have recompiled my kernel at least 15 times with various options... i've even stripped it almost bare(except for the main things you need like proc type and file system) and i'm still getting this same exact error

killall: Aiee, interupt handeler
ln interupt handeler not syncing

then my caps lock and scroll lock lights keep flashing and the system is totaly locked up

any help would be great.

btw my specs r:
p4 2.4
asus p4c800 deluxe
512mb ddr 266
10gig hd(for linux)
40gig hd(for winxp)
ati radeon 7500
incase that helps

I had that EXACT problem....

I am not sure exactly what I changed but it was in processor info...make sure you chose your appropriate CPU,devfs, nothing like local APIC....

Also I switched to gentoo sources instead of gamingsources and that plus something else I did fixed it.:D
