I've looked for hours and I can't seem to find a way to do this: I want my Shift/Caps Lock keys to behave as they should on an AZERTY keyboards that is:
  • Pressing the caps lock key locks the caps.
  • Pressing it again does nothing.
  • Pressing the shift key releases the caps, in addition of providing the regular shift key function.
Is that possible at all?

I've looked into xmodmap and it doesn't seem to handle this.

Thanks to anyone who knows.

You could probably do that with xkindkeys and xmodmap. You'd just have to have a quick script to check the status of the CAPS LOCK key and re-map the key accordingly.

I'll try that, thanks.
