usbhid is in /etc/autoload.modules.d/kernel-2.6. The keyboard is only required within an X (GNUStep) environment, not via the console. _________________ Michael Mounteney |

I use an Apple USB keyboard with my Linux box without any problems.
In fact quite perversely I use the Apple keyboard (still plugged into the Linux box) in connection with http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/to provide an external keyboard for my MacBook pro.
The OPTION and CMD keys are swapped when done this way on the MBP, but as long as I remember this it works pretty well.
In Gnome I just have a normal keyboard selected.
Apart from the different keymap, the Apple USB keyboards are no different to a standard PC USB one.
If a USB PC keyboard works, then the Apple one will!
Cheers

Thanks everyone for your input. The keyboard and mouse work on my other Gentoo box so it should just be a matter of diffing the .config files. _________________ Michael Mounteney |
