| i recently used opensuse (buggiest linux ever!) and it had a vista-like instant search feature in the kde menu. is there a package in portage/overlays, doing the same? |

You may want to look at the xeffects overlay and the kicker useflag.

The useflag I was searching for is 'kickoff' - just noticed my mistake before.

SuSE uses the kickoff menu, as pointed out above. You could also try kbfx, which is another implementation of an "extended" KDE menu. kbfx is in portage. |
