I've recently upgraded vmware-workstation on an amd64 box to version 5.5.4.44386. My machine in completely uptaded (kernel 2.6.21-gentoo-r4).
Since them I can't start the vm installed because during Win98 boot (guest OS) vmware hangs my entire machine. As far as I can tell, only the reset button let me get out of the problem.
I have just called vmware again (and made my machine hang one more time) just to copy the error message but the error message didn't appear this time. I bet the machine completely hang before vmware showed the error message.
Usually I get a long error message mentioning something like "double fault on monitor" and lots of other stuff.
Any ideas on what to do to fix vmware? |

And if I disable the network for my VM (Win98), it works fine.
But of course, I need this network. |
