I can get to the YouTube site, and go to the pages for the videos, but am unable to actually watch the videos. I think either my firewall or privoxy is blocking it.
What ports do I need to allow in iptables to permit youtube traffic?
I have ipt_LOG enabled, where should I look to find out what iptables doesn't like about youtube? I looked in /var/log/messages and couldn't find anything. And the /var/log/privoxy log file shows a request for the video, but doesn't say anything about denying it. I enabled javascript, referrer logging, and redirection for youtube, and those didn't seem to be the problem either. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mr. Snorfles |

Are you sure you aren't just missing the plugins to watch the media in YouTube?
I like to compare the output of consecutive runs of 'iptables -L -v' to see where the packets are going. 'watch' is a useful utility for this.
Code: | watch -n 3 "iptables -L -v" |
in a nice big xterm window. Then you can see where your packets are heading to. _________________ Configuring a Firewall? Try my iptables configuration
