Hi Guys,
I travel alot(US/Japan), but I usually wind up staying corperate apartments with good broadband links(at the moment I'm on 10mbit fiber). I consulate onsite alot and use various 3G/EVDO services to get access to the net. Latency/Bandwidth is pretty poor alot of the time.
I have 3 mail account's, work(IMAP), uni(IMAP), gmail(POP?). I'd like to have independace from them all as the first two go down occasionally(mail is pretty critical for work searching etc), I'd like to have my inboxes stored remotely, and I need a central point for filtering and maybe compressing my mail for better access out in the field.
The thing is mail server's aren't my forte(though I'd them to be), so where the best place start looking?
I'm assuming I'd have to get them all into some common format(isync? imap->maildir). Whats the best way to serve them up again? IMAP seems really slow.
I'm using thunderbird as a client at the moment, I have no problems switching, I'm not really that fond of it.
Thanks in advance,
