Ok guys i have an amd 64 3600 + and have gentoo fully installed and working great i want to know if i upgrade to an amd 64 x2 4200 + and also add 2 gigs more of ram will i need to redo my install or just the kernel? also what flags would i change in my /etc/make.conf file to make the computer use both cores ? |

Don't think you need to change anything.

And you might want to change your MAKEOPTS to "-j3" or "-j4"

ok thats kinda what i thought with the make.conf file and i guess that does make sense to recomplie the kernel with that so i will try it and see how it goes |
