Works for me. Do you have mplayerplug-in installed? If so, what USE flags did you emerge it and mplayer with?

this is my mplayer installation :
Code:
emerge -av mplayerplug-in

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] net-www/mplayerplug-in-3.40-r1  USE="gtk quicktime -divx -gmedia (-mplayer-bin) -realmedia -wmp" 0 kB

whats wrong there ? what are your flags ? thx a lot

Code:
mark@kensington ~ $ dep -u mplayerplug-in
net-www/mplayerplug-in-3.45:
+divx^      : Divx Playback Support
+gmedia^    : Google Media Playback Support
+gtk        : Adds support for x11-libs/gtk+ (The GIMP Toolkit)
(mplayer-bin): Use binary mplayer for 32 bit codecs on amd64
+nls        : Adds Native Language Support (using gettext - GNU locale utilities)
+quicktime  : Adds support for OpenQuickTime
+realmedia^ : Real Media Playback Support
+wmp^       : Windows Media Playback Support
The wmp USE flag is the one you want.

1. running as root

3. uncommenting FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/Type1"

still no luck :(

is it working under gentoo at your place ? what browser are you using? do you use KDE or Gnome?

The fonts showed correctly for me under KDE with Firefox.
