|
|
Hi everyone,
My goal is to setup a SLVR phone to my laptop via bluetooth and utilize those devices as the PSTN gateway/FXO components for asterisk when my cellphone is within bluetooth range to my laptop. Once in range, I want asterisk to prompt the caller to choose if they want to fax me a document over VOIP (which will ultimately be sent to my laptop via a PDF; I'm assuming I'll need to setup Hylafax) or contact me directly on my cellphone. Here is a simple diagram to get a better feel for what I'm trying to accomplish:
Hardware Layout:
Cellular Provider-->Cellphone-->Bluetooth Adapter-->Laptop Running Asterisk and Hylafax
Call Flow:
Caller-->Their Cell Provider-->My Cell Provider-->Cellphone-->Prompt Caller to Choose Voice or Fax-->|-------Directs to my cellphone OR Hylafax server based upon option chosen.
Just a quick note, my cellphone is already communicating just fine with my laptop via bluetooth.
My goal is to not download asterisk from source and patch, but to implement the chan_cellphone patches from http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=8919 OR EQUIVALENT into the current asterisk ebuild. The reason I want to do it this way is because I want to make it available for other Gentoo users so they can have cooler asterisk features then other distros, I want the patches always available by issuing emerge asterisk as long as the "chan_cellphone" USE flag is set, and have it completely integrated into the gentoo (init scripts, etc.).
So my question is this: What do I need to do to implement outside patches into Gentoo's asterisk ebuild AND how do I have the patch officially accepted? Any feedback is appreciated...thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
W |

Sounds interesting. I guess you will have to file a bug for this, to be able to share your modified ebuild and to get noticed by the appropriate devs.
I wanted to get started with asterisk for quite a while, and I am reading myself into that stuff, especially because I want to install it in a xen domU. To have a mobile via bluetooth as replacement for a normal telephone-line is my goal as well. _________________ Las torturas mentales de la CIA |
