|
|
Hello,
I have Gentoo on my 2,6 GHz AMD Machine (Desktop, home PC).
Now i wanna transfer files (like pics or textfiles) between my mobile phone (which is like a PDA), and my desktop. I want a bluetooth interface, either a usb dongle or, if there is, a PCI card.
Which interface should i pick/buy? Are there some that even have linux drivers?
I would even use a bluetooth headset on the PC, but i dont think this is gonna work on linux somehow. Im lucky already if i can transfer files from my mobile.
Any ideas? _________________ MfG,

<disclaimer>I work for a large Bluetooth chip and software provider.</disclaimer>
I don't think there's any PCI cards. At least not in any raw quantities. Get one of the newer generation tiny Bluetooth USB dongles. They can be had for around $20 (in the US) if you get them on sale somewhere. Or check eBay.
USB dongles are sold by many vendors but they boil down to pretty much two companies/chipsets:
- Broadcom's BRCM 2035/2045
- CSR's BC01, BC02, BC03 etc.
Both work well under Linux and you should not experience any incompatibilities. _________________ Adpot an unanswered post today! |

Hi,
Sorry for bumping up this old thread.
The CN-521 is bocoming a very cheap device these days (Less than EUR 10 right now), but even with it's low price i want to be sure it works with a vanilla linux kernel.
Any sugestions ?
I won't use the device much, but i'll do some experiments with it mostly to add information to my HOWTO So it doesn't have to be a high-quality device, but i want 100% support for it with Linux
Best regards,
