my wifi dev is eth1 and it dont appear in the applet
and its up
eth1 unassociated ESSID:off/any

Devices of any kind don't appear in the nm-applet. Ensure that you have wireless networking enable through the applet. Right click and check the box next to "Enable Wireless"
Also, have you followed the post install configuration steps on the Gentoo wiki? Is NetworkManager actually running? _________________ ....though I am already in my pajamas. |

i was looking in the wrong applet because someway my notification area(systray) wasnt up so i concluded that the other applet was the networkmanager
