since my last world (or kernel) update my computer isnt turning off anymore, i have to manually turn it off. but it was working before. so my question is which script or config file do i have to edit in order to shut down the computer ?

Probably check your kernel configuration. Have you got ACPI turned on/off? |

I got the same problem. After enabling ACPI it's working now, but strangly after that my nvidiafb module won't work properly so I can't have X anymore. Then, I rather prefer shutting down the computer manually everytime ... |

here we go,
i thought acpi is responsable for the blank screen (screensaver). after 20 minutes my screen goes blank. but i want to use my pc as tv station and therefore is that behaviour very annoying. in kde my screensavers are off. so i decided to turn off acpi in the bios. may that be my problem (shutdown)?
and how do i turn off that my screen goes blank every 20 minutes ?
thx again _________________ I do not have a Superman complex, for I am God not Superman

Look into your Desktop Environment. I am able to disable this feature with minimal gnome and X environment. |
