ok im still having issues with framebuffer. when my computer boots up it shows 800x600, no matter what im putting in. im using a 2.6.16-r9 kernel. my grub.conf file says "video=vesafb:mttr:3,ywrap,1024x758-32@60"
o btw im using vesafb-tng, would that be y its screwing up?
in my kernel i have savage framebuffer devices selected, but had to turn off console acceleration, because it screwed up my console. ive heard theres a "savagefb" framebuffer thing, but whenever is use it, my screen goes black and doesnt come back. anybody have any idea how to solve this? i just want it to show 1024x768.

i must have changed it back sometime because thats not what it says anymore. anyway, to add to this, does it matter that i havent compiled in savage console acceleration? well, i know for a fact that when i use the "vga" statement, it wil not accept 792 as a valid mode number. |

okay, ive discovered how to fix this problem. this goes for any Savage video card users. if you are having issues similar to the one i am describing, disable Savage framebuffer device support in the kernel, and everything should work fine |

Hi,
Sorry for necromancing...
I try to setup framebuffer on a thinkpad T23 equiped with a SuperSavage IX/C SDR (rev 05).
Could you please recap your kernel and grub configuration?
Many thanks! _________________ Powered by Gentoo Linux since 2003 |
