Is the "folder" (directory) stored on the Gentoo system, or was the Gentoo system merely a gateway to the real location? What filesystem is the server using for that partition? How did she execute the delete? How active is the file server? In general, the longer a filesystem remains in use after a deletion, the more likely some other piece of data will overwrite the deleted content.
In any case, it would be far faster to restore the document from backup (or source control, if you do change tracking that way) than to try to undelete it. |
