|
|
I have an old Epson EPL-3000 laser printer. It's the first laser printer from epson and there are no drivers for this printer. on my suse system i configured it with yast2. there was a common driver for all epson laser printers which worked properly. but how do i install the laser printer with this driver on gentoo with cups? in the web interface of cups i didn't find this driver and there are also no other drivers that match with my printer.
so please help me. thanks |

Hi,
Check http://www.linuxprinting.org to see if your printer is listed there. That should be your first point of contact when it comes to printing, as it has lots of generic guides and HOWTO's for things like driver setup, CUPS, etc.
I doubt you'll find a EPL-3000 user here, so perhaps posting on the LinuxPrinting.org's Epson mailing list may help too if you get stuck.
Cheers,
John |

Thanks, but i already have the solution. I found out that the Epson EPL-3000 is a copy of the HP LaserJet. So i took the LaserJet drivers and now it's working |
