The latest alsa update has introduced a new class of USE flag - ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS.
Code: | [ebuild U ] media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.14a-r1 [1.0.14_rc2] USE="midi%* -alisp% -debug -doc" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm%* alaw%* copy%* dshare%* dsnoop%* extplug%* file%* hooks%* ladspa%* lfloat%* linear%* meter%* mulaw%* multi%* null%* rate%* route%* share%* shm%*" 0 kB |
Can someone tell me if an ordinary desktop user will find these useful or valuable, what circumstances I might need any of these, and if other programs might depend on any of them? |

This post explains it all, but basically enabling them all won't add any functionallity, whereas disabling the use flags could remove some. _________________ "You have to invite me in" |
