Guys... I've got a 20Gb sdb and a 40Gb sdc. Look at the outputs...
[root@gateway p2p]# pvdisplay
--- Physical volume ---
PV Name /dev/sdb1

PV Size 18.64 GB / not usable 18.00 MB

[root@gateway p2p]# vgdisplay

[root@gateway p2p]# lvdisplay
--- Logical volume ---

LV UUID iaKr2k-oTUp-h0dX-iETk-F2WE-cPa2-Bxdg4t
LV Write Access read/write
LV Status available
# open 1
LV Size 56.91 GB
Current LE 1821
Segments 2

Ok so a 56Gb array, at /dev/Group/array. When I mount as /home:-
/dev/mapper/Group-array
19G 7.5G 10G 43% /home
WTF? Looks like only sdb1 is being mounted and sdc is ignored. Any ideas why? _________________ Just when you think you know the answers, I change the questions. |

did you create the logical volume before adding the new physical volume /dev/sdc1?
After growing the logical volume to cover /dev/sdc1 you'll need to resize the formatting of the partition, check out ext2resize or the analog for the filesystem you're using. Not all filesystems can be grown/shrunk/... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

Yeah I did - never occurred to me to resize the partition - I thought the lvresize command took care of that. Now that you mention it that makes sense... I'll do that and report back. _________________ Just when you think you know the answers, I change the questions. |

Just wanted to report, recently I tried resizing a partition on RAID5-LVM and it failed. I could not get the newly resized partition to fsck properly. Thank goodness I thought of backing up the array to another array, so I just recreated the filesystem and copied everything back. Always backup before resizing!!! _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
