NetworkManager problems

hello i have installed NetworkManager on a gentoo gnome computer
but i have the following problem:
->i need to have the wifi interface(ralink rt2500) up to find the network
->i can't connect with NetworkManager but with /etc/init.d/net.ra0 start

Maybe you could try RutilT, which was designed for the Ralink chipsets...

it's for someone that has difficulties using the computer...so network manager is better
but this utility is great...it even display the mac of the ap.,,
mabe i should try network manager with a rt2500 on ubuntu but installing ubuntu is not an option on this computer

Actually, I just found out that RutilT doesn't work either for me.
I recently switched to the official Ralink-driver (net-wireless/ralink-rt61) and this one isn't compatible with RutilT.

I suppose RutilT is not that hard to use either. Screenshot here

FYI: there are several different drivers:
- net-wireless/rt2500 (http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com)
- http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/Support/Linux.html
- net-wireless/rt2x00-9999 (CVS version from http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com)
