Could you recommend a hybrid usb microphone that works for vocal and my guitar with gentoo? Any experience from musicians for usb mics? Are they any good for music, latency?

I doubt it. It might work with the snd-usb-audio driver, but like I said, I doubt it.

You should just get an audio interface (usb, firewire, or pci) and hook in your standard microphones to record. I use the delta 66 in my home studio and it's very well supported. I just run my mics through external preamps, and hook the outs of those to my delta breakout box.

The only reason to get a usb condenser microphone is for the mobile recorder/sampler. In which case you can just pick up an m-audio or tascam usb interface and hook up your own condenser microphone.
