[SOLVED]Trouble with changing the keyboard layout/language

Hello.

This is a rather noobish question but, I don't know how to change my keyboard language/layout.

The tutorials tell me to change the /etc/conf.d/keymaps and /etc/conf.d/consolefont and inside there, add the following:

If you are on the console a /etc/init.d/keymaps restart and /etc/init.d/consolefont restart should be enough. If you are in X you need to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Look for the line Option "XkbLayout" and add your keymap there (it's probably us right now). The supported keymaps are in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols. You can try a keymap in X by typing setxkbmap <yourmap>. You could also try xorgconfig (see man xorgconfig).
