|
|
Hello,
I like tennis and I follow US open which is in progress. I am having problem with the website, the content that requires flash does not work. I just get error message:
Code: | This application requires features of Flash 9, at minimum, that are supported on the following browsers:
Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher
Netscape 8.0 and higher
Mozilla 1.7.5 and higher
Firefox 1.0 and higher
Safari 1.3 and higher |
I am up to date with current Gentoo, so all of these requirements are satisfied.
Can you try to access
http://www.usopen.org/en_US/scores/index.html
and see if they get the same error?
I want to see if the problem is my setup or if it is another Windows only website.
Thanks |

It is obviously a defective web site.
I get the same messages with firefox, seamonkey and konqueror.
However, if I change the user agent of konqueror to MSIE 5.5 under Win2000, it seems to proceed a bit further. It fails anyway with:
Code: |
Flash 9 at minimum is required to view live scoring pages.
Please update your Flash player,
or visit our alternate HTML scores page.

Flash is up and working, version is ok as well. So, I can only say the site is just badly written. |

I'm on amd64, and I get the same error message. Relevant packages installed here:
net-www/netscape-flash-9.0.48.0-r1
net-www/nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.4
www-client/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.6 |

Thanks guys for testing this.
It really looks like it is a website problem and thus not much can be done from our side.
I will try to notify IBM, who made the site, but I doubt they will actually do anything. |

Goto http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/1/
Then click on Usopen Live scores.
It works about 90%. Now if I could read the tiny print. CPU usage runs between 50 and 85%.
IBM didn't fix it last year either. |
