I have been having this problem on various machines after reinstalling Gentoo Linux. What happens is that usually I leave my computer when it is emerging a large list of packages on /dev/tty0 and then the monitor turns off. When I return to the computer the monitor will not wake up by moving the mouse or keyboard and is extremely frustrating.
I actually opened a ssh tunnel to the machine and ran this command:
Code: |
setterm -powersave off -blank 0 > /dev/tty0
and got this output:
Code: |
cannot (un)set powersave mode
I have seen many similar forums threads on this powersave issue but none were marked as [Solved] If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. |
