I want ALT to behave as a toggle button. It has to work in wine. Tried gnome sticky keys settings, but that doesn't work in wine. I need to change the behaviour on a lower lever.
I tried
Code:
xmodmap -e "add Lock = Alt_L"

but that doesn't work.

Edit: another problem is that when ALT is actually pressed, metacity takes over when eg. mouse 2 is pressed at the same time with the menu to move app to another workspace etc. Is there a way to disable this?

To be specific it's because I want the healthbars in warcraft 3 to stay on all the time.
