Gentoo on Acer Aspire 1694 fan is mad

Hi,

I have an acer aspire 1694 wmli with ati x700 notebook to and the fan is still driven me crazy.

I didnt patch the DSDT because the battery info is working correct.

cat proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature
temperature: 42 C

The cpu is cool and the ati powerplay is set to 1.


ati-driver version 8.40.4

aticonfig --lsp

core/mem [flags]
-----------------
* 1: 105/120 MHz [low voltage]
2: 209/182 MHz [low voltage]
3: 358/344 MHz [default state]

any other options i need with this ati x700 card?

and i use the powersave governor which set the cpu speed to 800
cat /proc/cpuinfo
cpu MHz : 800.000

i have the newest bios update

but the stupid fans keep on going, and I am going crazy with this stupid noise.
in windows xp it is totaly quiet, but i dont wont to go back...

any ideas?
