i participate in a relatively fast-paced sport that relies heavily on the internet to facilitate a sense of community. primarily, we share videos with one another. this leaves me making heavy use of quick pauses in my media player and even frame-by-frame analysis in some cases. additionally, i like to make my own videos from time to time.
for the longest time, this has been the only area where linux has fallen short for me. every media player i use (mplayer, totem xine and gstreamer, etc) fail at pausing quickly to create that pseudo-frame-by-frame effect i use windows media player for so often. is there a player i havent tried yet that can accomplish this?
secondarily, ive never had good luck with video editing under linux. for those of you who have pulled it off, what would you advise?
to complicate things slightly, i just switched to amd64, so almost everything is new and interesting again.
thanks guys. =) |

Avidemux would be the tool for you. I use it regularly and it can go through video files on a frame by frame basis. _________________ Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 | Asus P5K | 8GB DDR-2 800
