|
|
I have a sparc system that I installed hardened-sources onto. Everything was working fine until I recompiled the kernel with the pax features enabled (I enabled the features specified in this guide here). Upon reboot, I get these three pax related messages followed by a kernel panic.
they look something like this...
PAX: execution attempt in: /sbin/init, [random numbers]
PAX: terminating task: /sbin/init, [random numbers]
PAX: bytes at pc: [random numbers]
Does anyone know what the problem is here? |

The PaX security features are flagging your init process as violating security policy, and killing it. Without more information, it is difficult to say whether the problem is that init is actually violating security policy or only that PaX is raising a false alarm. Please post the output of emerge --info; emerge -pv sys-apps/sysvinit. If you use some other init package, post its version and USE flags instead. |
