Has anyone got DRM working on a Thinkpad T23 with a Savage video chip? Apparently
a number of distributions have problems, but they are solved by updating DRM. I'm using
kernel 2.19.5 and the update doesn't help. Xorg.conf says that DRI is available, but the
call to drmMap(framebuffer) has an invalid argument.
This worked fine in 2.15 and 2.17, with unstable drivers; however, it's now pretty much broken.
Thanks for any ideas - Will |

Xorg has savage driver (xf86-video-savage), so you may uses that instead of the one in kernel.
However, I don't know whether xorg-x11 will work with such an old kernel. If your old kernel works fine, and if you wish to use the driver from kernel, perhaps you may use the video driver from the old kernel by editing the kernel sources.
Is there any reason why you are using kernel 2.19.5 instead of 2.6.x? _________________ "There will be more joy in heaven over the tear-bathed face of a repentant sinner than over the white robes of a hundred just men." (LM, 114) |
