Themes GTK and GTK2

Hi there... I have both Gnome 1.4 and Gnome 2 Apps... But I want them to share the same theme so I have a consistent look and feel.

I'm abble to change Gnome2 themes without any problem but since I don't run Gnome 1.4, How can I change the theme for it?

There was a similar topic a while ago (how to theme gtk without using Gnome), and the solution was to edit .gtkrc in your home directory and add:

include "/usr/share/themes/THEME_NAME/gtk/gtkrc"

Or, whatever the appropriate path to your themes is.

Oh, you also need x11-libs/gtk-engines (I think) in case you don't already have that.

However, I don't know if this will work, since you're using Gnome 2 as well. Try that, though, I guess.

u could also try to emerge this:

app-misc/gtk-theme-switch
Latest version Available: 2.0.0_rc2
Latest version Installed: 1.0.1
Homepage: http://www.muhri.net/nav.php3?node=gts

1.0.1 works for gtk1.2
2.0.0> for gtk2

works nice here, but dont forget to emerge gtk-engines, like Dolio already mentioned.

i can't find the gtk 1.2 thinice engine anymore ... a couple of months (b4 the moves in x11-themes) the 1.2 and 2.0 had different names, so it was easy to install them both, now a emerge -s thinice gives:
