|
|
Hi
I just "upgraded" my beryl 0.2.X to the Compiz-fusion 0.5.2, using the howto of gentoo-wiki. I didn't uninstall beryl, but now the window decorations for beryl don't work.
The default effects in compiz-fusion are working, but I'm unable to configure them using ccsm, like i used to configure with beryl-manager.
I edit the options, and nothings has effect. Even after login/logout. But apparently the options are being saved, but without any impact on the system.
Why ccsm doesn't work ?
Where is Fusion-icon ?? I'm unable to find it.
I'm using XFCE4, and I autostart the compiz-start application (nothing more)
Regards
Rui

ccsm does work and it is the primary configuration backend, something is wrong with how you are starting compiz.
fusion-icon is in xeffects but it's still unkeyworded...
/etc/portage/package.keywords
Code: | x11-apps/fusion-icon ** |

fusion-icon problem is solved.
It seems ccsm only works with fusion-icon enabled. (?)
Solved. |

No, ccsm works without fusion-icon, I know that from my own experience. However, fusion-icon may be restarting compiz with the correct plugin, ccp, which loads the flat-file config including all the other plugins like the decorator plugin.
Check the compiz-start script, it may be too old to start compiz-fusion - I have such a script, but it was meant for the orignal compiz and will not work with compiz-fusion. The Gentoo Xeffects wiki page on compiz-fusion has instructions for starting it with Gnome and KDE but not XFCE4, but perhaps you can adapt those instructions. |
