Hi, I have installed Gentoo successfully. Thanks to the developers.

Unfortunately, during the installing process, I unchecked some services. So after installation when I start, go to "System->Administration->Services", in the "Services settings" pop-up window, there are only three services provided: xdm, cupsd, sshd. No others exist. So it causes problems such as I can not open my USB, etc. Any way to recover all other services.

And another problem is that, when I use the middle button of my mouse to scroll up or down a page, or move a window around on the desktop, thing moved so slow that it makes my eyes feel uncomfortable. Especially that the scroll bar can not stop until it reach the end. I don't know why and what to do. Any idea?

Thank! :)

You really should read through the handbook since most of these issues are explained in detail there.

Basically you will need to emerge those missing services (hal, samba, etc.) and rc-update add service boot/default.

The best bet would be to go to the gentoo wiki and look at what you have installed to see what services you need to prevent bloat (like what does KDE need, etc).

Also, have a look in /etc/init.d/ , if the service is listed there then you just need to add it to the runlevel using rc-update.

I guess another victim of the graphical installer. Look in /etc/init.d/ and read the handbook... ;)
