I've just tried to emerge unreal-tournament but I didn't get anywhere.
First it told me to mount the CD while it was actually mounted on /mnt/cdrom. After I fixed that using an export I got some kind of error like
Cannot create /var/tmp/ut-install-406/temp as it already exists.
Exit
And then it stops.
So I tried running ut-install-406.run manually. It asked me for the cd and where to install it and seemed to install fine.
But when I try to start ut I get a SIGFYT error and it it just dumps me back to the command line.
Why doesn't emerging it works? Does it have to do with the fact that I've got the Game Of The Year edition CD?

Not being rude but do a quick search.....there's a lot of archived info about UT install probs on this forum. There should be something there that will get you fragging

The original was 400. There were also 2 GOTY versions: 432 & 436. |

So, is there any way to hack that into portage? Is there already an ebuild or do I need to change it myself?

I just used the GOTY installer as posted earlier......it works flawlessly for me so no need for it to be covered by portage
