|
|
Hi,
I have upgraded my vmware-workstation from 5.5 to app-emulation/vmware-workstation-6.0.0.45731, but i can't start it anymore,
I get this error (have googled it, but no luck).
Code: |
$ vmware
/opt/vmware/workstation/lib/bin/vmware: symbol lookup error: /opt/vmware/workstation/lib/lib/libvmwareui.so.0/libvmwareui.so.0: undefined symbol: _ZThn24_N4view10FieldEntry17delete_text_vfuncEii
|
I have vmware-any-any-update113 and app-emulation/vmware-modules-1.0.0.16-r1 installed.

Found solution here:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-583949-highlight-vmware.html
Start vmware with:
Code: | VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=force '/opt/vmware/workstation/bin/vmware' |

Just in case anyone else is having this problem:
I had the Symbol lookup error as Zietbukuel did, and as Chiiza suggested recompiling libview got some of the way. Now I was getting the familiar:
Code: | process 13278: Attempt to remove filter function 0x2aaaab814e50 user data 0x94c2c0, but no such filter has been added
D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace | error even if VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK wasn't used.
Solution (for me) was simple; just to (re)start hald (sys-apps/hal) |

Bullseye rebuild libview restart hald - worked for me!
