|
|
I'm about to be doing a lot of backing up, and I'm trying to find some linux software to easily keep track of of what needs to be backed up and what has been backed up.
Is there any linux database software (preferably lightweight, I only need two text fields and two check boxes (or some other method of determining if something is done...) for each item) that anyone could recommend?
I'd write my own program but I figure there is probably already one available and this project isn't worth writing an extra little program for
Thanks. _________________ Shoot Pixels Not People

in webmin there is a backup feature, you can choose to backup to CD any file modified since last backup, or just backup certain directories.. maybe not what you are looking for but worth mentioning |

Thanks for the suggestion (it will probably get used later on for something else...) but my current project is actually to rip all of my CDs into mp3 files (two different bitrates) and then burn them onto archive CDs to make it easy for me to add/change music on my computer or my mp3 player w ithout dragging out CDs and re-ripping...
Thanks, I knew OO could probably do it somehow, but I wasn't sure I had OO installed... (after checking it turns out I do..)
This will probably work great for now. Thanks.
If anyone knows of a lightweight database program I could use in the future (since I probably won't have OO installed next time around ) feel free to keep adding to the thread. _________________ Shoot Pixels Not People
