Hi.
This puzzles me:
On a freshly booted system, whenever I log in as root and do a lsmod, I see four modules loaded: usbcore and three sound modules. This is OK as I specify those in modules.autoload.
But when I log in as regular user for the first time, a lot of device driver modules get loaded:
floppy, ide-cd, ide-scsi, scsi_mod, sg, sr_mod, sd_mod, cdrom.
These are the modules corresponding to my three drives: the floppy, an IDE cdrom and an USB CD-burner, using SCSI-emulation.
My regular user is member of the groups corresponding to those devices: floppy, cdrom and various cd burner groups.
Still, I would very much like those modules NOT be loaded at login time, but I have not been able to firgure out what triggers their loading. I am suspecting PAM, but cannot be sure.
Please help? _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |
